We need all kinds of families for all kinds of kids

With approximately 1,000 children/youth in foster care in Santa Clara County, you can make a difference by opening your heart and home to a child/youth facing a difficult time. All children/youth deserve a safe and nurturing family so they can thrive, whether they are 2 or 17 years old.

Children/Youth are often confused, afraid, and angry when they come into foster care. A resource family can help build hope and comfort during this time in a child/youth’s life by creating stability and consistency, whether it is temporary or for a lifetime. This unconditional support may change the outcome of a child/youth’s life and prevent them from becoming another statistic.

In Santa Clara County, we have children/youth ages 0-22, who come from all backgrounds in need of families just like yours.

Eligibility: We welcome all qualified applicants over the age of 18 from all different backgrounds, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations and gender identity expressions.

Cost: Free, you need to demonstrate that you can cover your own individual or family costs of living.

“We have been fostering for about ten years. We started when our boys were 7 and 10. Originally, we wanted to adopt and we have ended up, so far, with no adoptions but loving and caring for 36 children. The children have ranged in ages from 0 to 13 years with some staying for only a weekend and others up to 15 months. Knowing we gave them a moment of time filled with love, joy and experiences makes it more than worth the pain.”
